| Choosing a wedding photographer is an important decision and you will likely have many questions along the way. Make sure you get answers to all your questions before making your decision. We've compiled a list of some of the questions we have most frequently been asked by couples over the years. If in doubt, please contact us and we'll be happy to answer all of your questions. Frequently Asked Questions We've seen your portfolio and we're interested in learning more - what do we do? Well, you've completed step 1 - the most important step - which is to review our wedding galleries to make sure that you like our style of photography. As step 2, we generally recommend that you visit our pricing to make sure that the cost of our services is within your price range. Next, contact us and we'll arrange a mutually convenient time & place to meet so that we can listen to what you've got planned for your big day, and more importantly, so that you can gauge whether our personalities are a "fit." What should we be considering when we select our photographer? This really depends from couple to couple, but our experience has been that couples who select us to shoot their wedding have put emphasis on the following items in making their decision:
How many photographers? All of our wedding packages include a team of two photographers. How much will it cost? The total cost will depend on the following key factors (among other things):
How many photos will we get? This is up to you. Generally couples will choose 125 photos from approximately 700 proofs. The selected photos will be fully re-touched and included in your album, plus you will receive a high resolution (printable) file for each selected image, with unlimited reprint rights. What is the process for selecting photos? Within 6-8 weeks of your wedding you will receive a username & password to access our on-line proofing site. You will review your proofs on-line and submit your selections electronically directly from the site. Click here to find out how you can get a sneak peek at your wedding photos before your proofs are ready. Will all of the photos we choose be re-touched? Yes. We carefully crop, colour balance and re-touch all of the images that you select. Will I get digital images and reprint rights? Yes. You will receive a CD with high resolution files for each of the images you have selected. You get permission from Horton Photography to reprint the selected photos at a professional photo lab. Will my package include a wedding album? All of our traditional packages come standard with an 11x11 coffee table album. You may choose to upgrade your album, or if you're a scapbooker and plan to create your own album, select one of our digital packages which do not include an album. You can get more information about our albums here. What is an Engagement Shoot? An engagement shoot is a 1-2 hour on-location or in-studio photo shoot with bride & groom to be, sometime before the wedding day. Couples sometimes use photos from the engagement shoot to create a guest book/poster, to print an enlargement for display next to the guest book, for wedding invitations, or even just to get some nice (casual) photographs to display at home. From our perspective, it is an excellent opportunity for us to get to know the bride & groom before the wedding day. You can check out our engagement gallery here If we decide to book with you, what is the process & payment plan? If you choose to book us to photograph your wedding, the process is pretty simple. First, we send you a service agreement detailing the terms of the package you have requested, and specifics with respect to times and locations. We ask for the signed agereement, plus a 25% deposit to reserve the day. A second instalment of 50% is due one week before the date of the wedding, and the final instalment is due prior to delivery of your album |
